YMCA run ESOL classes at Unity Business Centre on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 10am to 1230.

Unity Enterprise is a not for profit organisation committed to the economic wellbeing of local communities and to the regeneration of inner city neighbourhoods through the provision of good quality, affordable offices and workspaces in the Leeds area. We run several English classes throughout the week. The classes are term time only.

Our weekly drama workshops for women are restarting. They will take place online or in person (at CLAY, 1-2 Regent Street, LS2 7QA). The workshops focus on building resilience and promoting wellbeing through drama, voice and movement. Our workshops are free to attend and open to refugees, asylum seekers and settled communities in Leeds. They are a great opportunity to practise English, make new friends and get creative. We have funding for data and devices to help participants take part. Places must be booked as capacity is limited.

This course is for women who have a limited understanding of English. It is suitable for learners from Pre-Entry Level to Entry Level 3. Learners will build their English skills, cultural understanding and integration into Leeds. Course goals include:
– Being able to write or say personal information, such as name and address in English
– Know how to make an appointment with a doctor or health service
– Know how to stay safe in the community and on-line
– Be able to travel around Leeds on foot or by using buses, including being able to understand timetables
– Understand personal options for access to education and/or employment
Learning will include taught English sessions, guest speakers and an accompanied trip to a location in Leeds.

Courses run across the district and start in September and February. We will invite you to an enrolment workshop where we will help find the right course for you.
