Sheffield is a large city in South Yorkshire and is famous for its steel industry, most notably for the invention of stainless steel. Sheffield has a shopping centre, museums, art galleries, theatres and cathedrals. It is known for being the host to the annual World Snooker Championships. 

Sheffield lies at the foot of the Pennines and is surrounded by the Peak District National Park. It is known for its wide range of city parks and is a diverse city which was the first City of Sanctuary. The population of Sheffield was 551,800 in 2011.
