Back to the staffroom – News and resources for ESOL Professionals
If you’re an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) professional in Yorkshire and the Humber, did you know there’s one place to get all your ESOL news, updates and resources? Learning English Plus (LE+) is a specialist online hub for ESOL tutors, volunteers, and providers and an extension of Learning English in Yorkshire and the Humber (LEYH).
LE+ is perfect if you’re looking to kickstart your January ESOL planning. Whether you’re looking for resources to support your existing role or you’re looking for a new role entirely, LE+ compiles all the latest information in one location.
On LE+, information is stored in three easy-to-use categories:
Resource Hub – containing links to ESOL teaching and learning resources. In the resource hub, you can search by category, type or keyword, or just browse A-Z if you prefer! The hub includes resources such as activities for ESOL students and links to recognised ESOL provider information such as the BBC. There is plenty of specialist information too, for example, ideas for teaching the Yorkshire dialect. Click through to find documents, articles, videos, LEYH bespoke resources, and links to external resources and support.
Staff Room – all the latest ESOL news and events for those organising and running classes. In the staffroom, you can find current local vacancies and information about upcoming conferences, research projects and more. For example, the session, ESOL in Yorkshire and the Humber: Making Sense of Funding, covers ESOL rules and eligibility for the region and toolkits such as Building the Foundations for Social Connections in Yorkshire and the Humber.
Training – training opportunities listings that support your professional development needs. If you’re looking to attend webinars, join forums or find volunteer training opportunities, this is the place for you. This section includes regional, national and online training opportunities, keeping you up-to-date with nationwide ESOL developments. You can, however, search each by region and category if you’re looking for local training opportunities.
We regularly add to our LE+ areas with the latest news and updates but if you can’t find what you’re looking for or have further questions, please contact the team for more information.
You can also follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for all our latest updates.
If you’re a provider with information to share, please don’t hesitate to contact our team.
