In 2003, the Government published the “Every Child Matters Policy”, so that every child from birth to 19 years, whatever their background or their circumstances, would have the support they need to be healthy, stay safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic wellbeing. This policy, alongside Early Years Foundation Stage, provides the guiding principles for this early years and pre-school settings course.
