RNN Free Level 5 Teacher Training opportunity
RNN can now confirm details of a free NOCN level 5 certificate in TESOL, funded by Migration Yorkshire.
The programme is planned to start on Tuesday 11th November and will last for 16 weeks and finish on 20th March 2026.
The programme will cover the following modules:
• Theories, Principles, Models and Learning Processes in Education and Training
• Planning Learning
• Classroom Management
• Classroom Teaching Skills and Techniques
• Learning Materials
• Assessment of Learning
• English Language Awareness
• Intercultural Awareness for Teaching, Learning and Assessment
Programme delivery will include a blended learning model of both face-to-face sessions based at Rotherham College and also online learning. Face to face sessions will take place every Tuesday 5-7pm at Rotherham College and placements will also take place in either the Rotherham or North Nottinghamshire Campus.
The first 12 weeks will be theory based and the final four weeks will involve teaching placements. The guided learning hours of structured learning is 144 hours and a further 96 hours of self-directed study.
Applicants need to be either English native speakers or have a proficiency level equivalent to C2 and to have FS level 2 or GCSE grade C/4 or above in both Maths and English.
Teaching experience is desirable but not essential.
Applicants must live in Yorkshire & Humber and be committed to ESOL teaching in the region.
