Overview

Halifax Opportunities Trust is a Provider of accredited ESOL/Integration programmes. We are based in Park ward, Halifax, and we work with other social organisations to support the community. We help people build new skills, and to learn ESOL and citizenship to integrate into their new community. We also offer support to families, support to find employment, advice on health and wellbeing, apprenticeships and advice to start a new business.

    There are lots of groups, programmes and activities that support the local community at Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre.

    We are based in an industrial estate on Hanson Lane, Halifax. Many people visit to get information about career and training opportunities, learn English language and gain wellbeing support. The site is also an enterprise centre, where businesses work from industrial units.
 

The Outback Community Kitchen and Garden

    The Outback is a unique community kitchen and garden based in the heart of the Park Ward community.
    The Outback Community Kitchen and Garden runs on organic and sustainable principles and the thriving garden is packed full of herbs, fruit and veg. The one acre site is located next door to the Jubilee Family Hub and is open to the public. There are lots of interesting areas to explore and learn more about the natural environment, whilst the straw bale kitchen provides a perfect space for the local community to gather and cook food.
