Welcome to the Learning English in Yorkshire & Humber Autumn newsletter!

The Learning English pages offer information and guidance for ESOL learners in the Yorkshire & Humber region. If you have visited our site before, you will notice a difference now to the way the site looks! Over the past year the Migrant English Support Hub (MESH) team have been working with our web development partners at Feel Created on a new look for our site. We have been striving to make the site more easy to use, with clearer information and better navigation. Please do take a look round the site and let us know what you think by messaging us on info@yhmesh.org.uk.

You can find English classes near you. Search by postcode or town. Find details including contact information and maps that help you to get to class.

You can also find information and language guidance about useful topics like Going to University and Volunteering.

There is also information about other classes you may be interested in such as driving theory or IT

Our team is working hard to develop opportunities for migrants, refugees and asylum seekers to help them access training and to feel at home in Yorkshire & Humber. One of our current projects is called Exploring & Belonging. This project works with refugees and asylum seekers to investigate local heritage in the places they are now living. By exploring the places and cultural practices valued by the participants on this project, we hope to help people to feel like they belong in the places they live. We have just completed a set of sessions on this theme in Calderdale.

We had a great time sharing our findings with visitors to the Calderdale Food Gathering in September.
