About this class
Yorkshire English School is proud to have an excellent IELTS Preparation course, and we are ready and waiting for you to join in! We recommend a minimum course duration of 4 weeks, although a shorter length can also be arranged. Our course syllabus covers all four phases of the exam: reading, writing, speaking and independent listening. YES delivers our IELTS preparation programme from our team of experienced, academically-specialist teachers, who will help you to develop detailed exam skills and specific time-management strategies, as well as invigilating and examining complete and separated practice tests, where possible, under exam conditions. You will learn how to analyse written and listening text and visual data, and how to write about data and discursive essay topics, in a time-effective and structurally-appropriate manner, and always with reference to marking criteria and academic conventions, to help you prepare for your all-important external examination. Therefore, you will, at the appropriate time, be able to enter your IELTS test centre with cool, calm, confidence! Our most successful students combine General English with IELTS, thus beating the exam blues in one intensive all-round academic English immersion programme. Please note, class times and fee details below reflect the GE+IELTS immersion programme. If you cannot attend GE in the mornings, please enquire for IELTS-only course fees and afternoon timings. Sometimes, students require English for Academic Purposes, but may not need to take the IELTS exam. For instance, you may be at University already, but need support with academic reading, writing, presentation, or lecture-listening skills and activities. Please ask the course manager, Gwyn Maher, who will advise you to join this course, recommend our ‘Speaking and Writing Support’ sessions, or suggest one-to-one tuition, according to your specific needs.

Yorkshire English School
Yorkshire English School is a private language school, conveniently situated in the centre of Huddersfield, opposite the railway station, and only five minutes away from the bus station. Yorkshire English School, known as ‘YES’, delivers engaging and motivational, supportive, and personally-tailored English tuition, specializing in: General English (all levels, with progression through the levels), IELTS Preparation/English for Academic Purposes courses, one-to-one tuition in any area of English and study skills, writing and speaking/conversation practice and support, and community ESOL, (English +Skills for Life, Pre-employment, and Employment Skills). We welcome all EFL and ESOL learners, no matter what your need and preference may be! We also run lessons in other languages, subject to demand. Female only classes can be provided by arrangement, as can a creche facility.
