ESOL – Writing for Everyday Life
This is an English Writing course for speakers of other languages (ESOL) to improve confidence and develop specific writing skills in everyday life. It is open to any learner from Entry to Entry 3 level. You will learn how to use basic punctuation e.g. full stops, question marks and capital letters, basic grammar to aid writing e.g. subject verb agreement, adjectives and simple conjunctions, spelling strategies and handwriting skills to produce legible handwritten text.
What wider skills & personal development does this course provide?
You will develop skills in communication, group work, presenting, timekeeping, and be starting to develop subject knowledge. You will also improve your reading, writing, listening and social skills, hence enhancing your confidence to use essential skills in everyday life.

On successful completion, you will be able to: ●Have clear understanding of learnt topics ●Share knowledge with their family, friends and children ●Plan progression according to the skills gained ●Be confident to apply for courses at Leeds City College and with other providers ●Be able to join volunteering/employment opportunities according to their level of language and skills gained
