About this class

The level 1 award in introduction to working in the Adult Social Care sector. This qualification develops a basic knowledge of the adult social care sector. It covers the type of job roles and services within it, the role of communication and the importance of valuing the individuals being cared for.

Various Start Dates

Entry Requirements & Interview Process  – Successful interview with course tutor.

Students can progress on to Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care or the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care.

Assessment Methods – Tasks, Portfolios and coursework.

Calderdale College

Calderdale College is a Further Education College in Halifax. We are passionate about giving everybody the opportunity to gain basic skills to either study further, secure an apprenticeship or find a job. Aimed at students who don’t speak English as their first language our ESOL courses give you the skills you need to succeed. Employers look for basic English skills and this course is your first step into a brighter future. We will help you decide your next steps and make sure you have everything you need to succeed. We work with local community projects such as Calderdale Valley of Sanctuary whose aim is to bring together organisations across Calderdale to create a network of places that asylum seekers and refugees know to be welcoming and understanding of their situation. We also provide many Wider Learning courses
