ESOL – Reading for Everyday Life
About this class
This ESOL course is aimed at adults aged 19 and over, who need to improve their language skills. The course delivers personalised, individual support, and allows learners to progress on to positive destinations / outcomes. Courses will help realise the potential of learners and develop their confidence within the essential skill of ESOL.
Be able to read out loud and understand a variety of texts
Read and recognise different sentence structures
Read and obtain information from common signs, symbols and instructions
Read and respond to formal texts and information
A course that is designed to meet the needs of various communities in Leeds helping people to have a voice, understand their local area and services, support active participation and help with integration into UK society. Learners will develop team working and study skills and grow their confidence.
After the course learners can progress to other ESOL modules, move to accredited ESOL provision, study more widely or apply for jobs. Learners will be supported to make their next steps.

Leeds Adult Learning
Leeds Adult Learning offers courses funded by Leeds City Council. They provide ESOL courses at various different venues across Leeds. Other organisations also provide Leeds Adult Learning courses – these will be marked (LAL).
