About this class

This course helps you use health services, talk to doctors or nurses, and take care of your health. You will practice booking appointments, reading medicine boxes, and visiting local health centres with confidence.

What skills, knowledge and behaviours you will be learning:

You will learn knowledge about body parts, health problems, medicine, and local clinics. You will practice skills in booking appointments, explaining how you feel, and finding your way, while building confident learning behaviours.

What learners could do next:

Planned progression routes include: ESOL for Social Conversation; ESOL for Job Seeking; ESOL at the next assessed level; accredited ESOL or English provision; community health, wellbeing or physical activity programmes; volunteering within community settings; Essential Digital Skills provision; employability and vocational learning; and more independent engagement with health and community services.
