ESOL – Entry 2 Speaking and Listening
About this class
This course helps you improve your English language skills for everyday life in the UK. You will practise speaking, listening, reading and writing through topics such as family, health, work, housing and life in your local community, helping you feel more confident using English every day.
What knowledge, skills and behaviours will you learning?
You will develop the skills to speak, listen, read and write in English more confidently. You will gain the knowledge of useful English words, phrases and information that can help you communicate, complete forms and access services. You will also develop positive behaviours such as confidence, regular attendance, active participation, teamwork, respect for others and independent learning.
What you could do next.
You can move on to the next ESOL class to improve your English. You can also join Digital Skills and CV and Job Search Skills courses to help you use computers, write a CV and look for work.
Your tutor will help you choose the right next step, whether that is more learning, training, volunteering or a job.

RETAS Leeds
Established in 2002, RETAS (Refugee Education Training Advice Service), is a well-respected community-based charity that supports the social, cultural and economic integration of refugees and asylum seekers in West Yorkshire. Located in the heart of Harehills, we annually, support over 3000 new asylum seekers and refugees and over 10800 related cases. We run learner responsive ESOL course specifically catering to beginner and illiterate learners. We also run digital skills and additional courses in the language around navigating the transition between asylum and refugee status. We offer a full holistic wraparound advice service.
