About this class

What this course is about: In this module learners will learn the basics for applying for jobs using application forms and CVs. They will also develop their interview techniques, learning appropriate behaviour and the ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ of interviews. Learners will have a functional grasp of the English language, some expectations and conventions related to applying for employment in the UK. What other skills learners might gain: * English, Maths and digital skills development * English: Listening, speaking, reading and writing, grammar, spelling * Maths: numbers, dates, telling time, counting, ordinals and cardinals, telephone numbers * Digital Skills: Researching on-line, recording progress. * Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion: Ground rules, group and pair work, classroom safety and layout, learning stretch and challenge, additional learning opportunities * British Values: Induction, negotiations, celebration of cultures, ground rules, role model * Employability: Attendance and punctuality, completion of logbooks and homework, * Safeguarding and Prevent: Induction, creating safe learning environment What learners could do next: After course completion, learners typically use their English language skills and confidence to transition into part-time or full-time employment, specialised employment training pathways, volunteering, or further education.
