General English Classes

The General English Programme is designed for students who wish to improve all their language skills.

Classes are taught on our beautiful city centre campus .They are at all levels from Elementary (A2) to Advanced (C1). The course offers you access to the University’s world-class learning facilities and brand new Students’ Union, allowing you to enjoy an exceptional student experience during your time in York, one of the top tourist destinations in the UK. We offer fantastic teaching facilities and all of our tutors are experienced professionals who will guide you to your language learning goals. You will have access to the Fountains Learning Centre which includes the library, state of the art technology, and a team of staff who can help you to get the most from the facility. There is one-to-one support available if you feel you need extra help.

This course is accredited by the British Council, guaranteeing you a high standard of teaching, study facilities and accommodation. The University also offers computer and wifi facilities across the campus, gym facilities and a variety of dining areas on campus. The Students’ Union is open to all students. Here you can relax with a Starbuck’s coffee, meet friends or join one of the many societies.

Age restrictions: Students must be over 18 years of age when they join the programme.
