Our flagship course, General English, is designed to engage, motivate, and start (or upgrade) you in all the important English skills: Speaking, Reading, Listening, and Writing, while making grammar easy, and providing you with all the vocabulary you could wish for! We teach from Beginner (Pre-A1 or A1 level; Entry 1) through to Advanced (C1-C2; Level 2), and encourage progression through the levels, as quickly or slowly as you want. The lessons are both skills and topic-based, inspiring you to explore subjects in a friendly, supportive, small-class environment. Professional, fully qualified teachers will help you identify your strengths and weaknesses, and support you in progression, so you will feel happily challenged and enthused, but never over-worked! Our teachers include highly experienced staff, including ESOL and EFL examiners, who know the best way to move you forward, and to encourage you to fulfill your dreams and potential. A lively, colourful course book is usually required; you will be given information about this, and about the school’s professional yet family atmosphere, when you arrive. Our special YES syllabus helps you to cover important texts in the course book, through interactive, confidence-boosting sessions, with lots of speaking, and also connects with some of the Trinity College London topics and grammar points grades 1-12.
The normal weekly attendance pattern is 15 hours per week. In some cases, students prefer a 20 + hour per week, and some might have other commitments on certain days, making their total hours less than 15. Don’t let these restrictions put you off! Come and talk to Bethany in reception, and she will do her best to create a suitable programme for you.
Enrollment is continuous (we accept new students every week). If possible, please try to start your course on a Monday, but don’t panic if you prefer to start your first lesson on a different day of the week.
If you plan to do a particular ESOL (or other English) examination, for example, Trinity Grade 2, 3, or 5 for visa purposes, or Cambridge KET, PET, FCE, CAE, for work or other purposes, as well as others, please let us know, as we can help you achieve your goals in General English; or you might consider our one-to-one option below!
